She knows nothing about managing a rock band, the band members don’t really get along, and since Piper is profoundly deaf, she can’t even hear the band play. But she’s determined to get the band more exposure and earn a paycheck for herself. Sounds like a recipe for disaster, but Piper is smart and tough, and the way she handles the ups and downs of the band, her family, and school makes for a satisfying read. (Grades 9 & up)
